Top-Seeded Softball Teams Face Road Games

Orange County’s three top-seeded softball teams, Mater Dei, La Habra and Woodbridge, will have road games in the next round of the Southern Section playoffs.
Mater Dei plays the Pacifica-Cerritos winner in the Division 5-A quarterfinals Thursday. Pacifica and Cerritos had their first-round game suspended by darkness with the teams tied 0-0 after 20 1/2 innings.
La Habra (23-2) plays at Fontana (18-4) in a 4-A second-round game Tuesday.
Woodbridge (26-4) plays at La Mirada (16-9) in a 3-A second-round game Wednesday.
Tuesday’s playoff games involving Orange County teams (all games begin at 3:15 p.m.):
Division 5-A
First round
Cerritos (17-9-1) at Pacifica (19-5), conclusion of game postponed by darkness.
Division 4-A
Second round
La Habra (23-2) at Fontana (18-4); Brea-Olinda (18-6) at Capistrano Valley (12-10-2); Covina Charter Oak (16-5) at El Toro (22-8-1); Sunny Hills (14-12) at Mission Viejo (11-15); Foothill (22-7) at Diamond Bar (15-10).
Division 1-A
Second round
Calvary Chapel (17-6) at Cerritos Valley Christian (14-3); Whittier Christian (16-3) at San Pedro Mary Star (16-3).
Wednesday’s playoff games involving Orange County teams (all games begin at 3:15 p.m.):
Division 3-A
Second round
Woodbridge (26-4) at La Mirada (16-9); Chino (24-4) at University (19-10); Chino Don Lugo (23-4) at Trabuco Hills (19-9).
Thursday’s playoff games involving Orange County teams (all games begin at 3:15 p.m.):

Quarterfinals
Mater Dei (18-1-1) at Pacifica-Cerritos winner; Los Alamitos (16-6-1) at Simi Valley (24-2); Fountain Valley (19-4) at Cypress (22-5); Thousand Oaks (20-4) at Kennedy (21-6).
