Nick Acevedo, lightweight from New York and the youngest of three boxing brothers, took the first step toward qualifying for the U.S. Olympic boxing trials with a 3-0 decision over Brad Timm of Minneapolis at Northern Michigan University. George and Daniel Acevedo will compete in the tournament’s 112- and 125-pound divisions, respectively.
