Azusa Pacific to Play in Holiday Tournament

Azusa Pacific has replaced Morgan State in the San Diego State men’s basketball team’s Texaco Star Classic holiday tournament next December, John Wadas, SDSU senior associate athletic director, announced Wednesday.

Azusa Pacific will join Texas, Washington State and SDSU in the Dec. 18-19 tournament, which will probably be in Peterson Gym.

“There was a finals conflict with Morgan State,” Wadas said. “They had finals that week and weren’t allowed to travel on Wednesday to be here for a Thursday function and a Friday-Saturday tournament. We understand that entirely.”
