THOUSAND OAKS : Dog Unsuccessful in Search for Woman

A dog trained to search for people was unsuccessful Saturday in a hunt for a missing Thousand Oaks woman.
Nancy Huter, 36, disappeared March 3, and a muddy pair of her boots were found near Las Virgenes Creek in Malibu Creek State Park, said Bob Huter, the missing woman’s father.
Divers searched the creek in March, but rainstorms had raised the water level unusually high, and divers said a body could have been trapped underwater and hidden by debris.
Huter’s family decided to search again Saturday because they were offered the use of a Newfoundland dog trained to search for people, Huter said.
The five-hour search, however, did not turn up anything.
“At least we know she isn’t in this area of the creek,” Huter said.
A search in another part of the creek may be conducted next weekend, he said.
