The Chicago Blackhawks scheduled a news conference for today at which they were expected to name associate coach Darryl Sutter head coach, replacing Mike Keenan behind the bench.

Sutter’s scheduled interview for the Kings’ coaching job was canceled when the Blackhawks denied the Kings permission to talk to Sutter. In addition, Keenan has said he would consider giving up coaching, remaining as general manager.
