California Amplifier Reports Sharp Profit Rise

California Amplifier Inc., a Camarillo supplier of components for home satellite dishes and wireless cable systems, said it earned $754,000 in its fiscal first quarter ended May 30, compared with earnings of $127,000 a year ago.
The company said quarterly revenue jumped 137%, to $8.2 million from $3.5 million a year ago. Barry W. Hall, chairman and chief executive officer, attributed the earnings and revenue increase to new products and an increase in exports.
