Video Rentals : ‘Addams Family’ Creeps In at No. 6
- Share via
“The Addams Family,” starring Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia as heads of the comically morbid clan, crept into the Billboard magazine rental Top 10, bowing at a lofty No. 6. Considering its box-office success--$110-million gross--it’s a shoo-in to reach No. 1, inevitably flushing out “Cape Fear” in the next week or two. “Father of the Bride,” which would normally have been No. 1 for several weeks, continues to languish in second place--first behind “Cape Fear” and in future weeks will probably trail “The Addams Family.”
* Bad reviews shouldn’t stop this buddy-cop movie, which stars Christian Slater, in the home video market. His army of fans should make it a rental hit. “Kuffs,” which did decent box-office business ($19.5 million), premiered at No. 13 and should easily make the Top 10.
