Ballot Measure for More Police

In response to “Bradley Proposes New Tax to Pay for Police,” July 7:
Once again we homeowners are being penalized for having the “American Dream” of owning a home.
If a tax is needed to pay for hiring more police, why not increase the sales tax? Almost everyone pays sales tax so almost everyone would be paying for the new police officers, not just a chosen few.
