* Hilton Hotels Corp. said it recorded higher net income in the second quarter and first half of 1992.
Net income for the three months ended June 30 totaled $32.4 million, or 68 cents a share, up from $23.6 million, and 49 cents a share, in the corresponding quarter of 1991.
Barron Hilton, chairman and president of the Beverly Hills-based company, said: “Our gaming operations continue to perform very well as all four of our Nevada gaming properties recorded improved results for the quarter.”
But, he said, “the hotel division continues to be adversely affected by the sluggish economic recovery and excess capacity.”
