Networks’ Work Gives Them Static
Let’s face it, the networks should not be allowed to televise major sporting events. They are more concerned with ratings than sports coverage.
--How can I see Wimbledon when I do not have HBO? And NBC, are you going to televise tennis or basketball? You can’t have both (even though you tried).
--ABC should be banned from televising golf. Jack Whitaker and Jim McKay should be put to rest (or assigned to the World Cup). Please let me watch the U.S. Open, or any Open, without these guys.
--It’s no wonder that track and field is dying in this country. We recently had eight days of the U.S. Olympic trials and NBC gives us two hours (minus the fluff) of coverage.
The solution is to let ESPN do the major events so the viewer can have some real sports coverage.
