McDonnell Research Rocket: McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co. in Huntington Beach launched a Delta II rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on Friday.
The rocket carried a Geotail scientific research spacecraft into orbit for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Each Delta II launch generates about $50 million in revenue for Space Systems.
The launch was the sixth of 11 Delta II launches planned for 1992.
