Fishing Project--The Orange County Marine Institute is sponsoring an environmental fishing project Saturday beginning at 5 p.m.

Participants will be introduced to near-shore fishing. Fish captured during the program will be measured, tagged and then released.

The program is $22 for adults, $11 for children.

Bay Tour--Guided tours of the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve, sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game, are now being offered every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The tours are free. Those who would like to go on a tour are asked to meet at Shellmaker Island off Backbay Drive in Newport Beach.

Nursery Nature Walks--Two slow-paced nature walks for parents with young children will be held this week.

The first will be at Sea View Park in Laguna Niguel at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The second will be at Whiting Ranch Regional Park at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Each of the walks are free for participants, but donations will be accepted.
