GRAND DAY? Irene Koontz of Buena Park, organizer of the grandparents’ rights group HUGS, will be among hundreds of grandparents at a rally in Sacramento on Monday. It’s an effort to gain more rights for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. . . . Specifically, marchers want reimbursement equal to that foster parents get, free access to legal counsel and more judges trained in family issues. . . . “There are kids being lost in the system. Children are hurting,” Koontz says.
