CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : STOCKTON : Arson Fire Damages Shopping Center

An arsonist set fire to a Vietnamese shopping center in north Stockton, destroying three stores and causing $1 million in damage. There had been unsuccessful attempts to burn the same shopping center, but police and firefighters had not determined whether the fires were related. Investigators were unable to understand Vietnamese and had trouble communicating with the victims.
