Boxed Out of the Bowl
Year after year, my level of frustration increases at not being able to obtain box seats for the Tuesday or Thursday evening series of classical music concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. Since the Bowl is a County of Los Angeles facility, why aren’t the seats, all seats, available for one season at a time by a lottery drawing?
Otherwise, people like us, who were not fortunate enough to found big corporations, be bequeathed boxes in perpetuity by family or were just plain lucky to have them made available after being wait-listed for years, will likely never have the opportunity to experience this special summer pleasure at the Bowl.
Certainly I am not the first person to complain about the inequitable allocation of boxes. Something fair needs to be done about series seat allocation, and it is long overdue.DENA R. GINSBURG
