MONROVIA : 2 Men Found Dead in Possible Murder-Suicide
- Share via
Two men were found shot to death Friday in what Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were investigating as a possible murder-suicide.
Sheriff’s deputies said neighbors discovered the body of an elderly man at his home in the 200 block of North May Avenue about 3:30 p.m. after noticing a fire in the garage. Several neighbors kicked in the door to the house out of concern that the man might be trapped, authorities said.
The man, believed to be in his 80s, had been shot several times in the chest, Deputy Benita Hinojos said. In another room, firefighters and paramedics found the body of a second man, in his 40s, with a gunshot wound in his chest, she said.
Both men, whose names were not released pending notification of relatives, were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the fire was confined to the garage, and it was unclear if the shootings and the blaze were related.
