Man Shot to Death in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA — A 34-year-old man was fatally shot as he stood in a driveway in a residential neighborhood early Saturday, police said.
James Earl Scott was pronounced dead at Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana shortly after the 12:30 a.m. shooting, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Brian Collins.
Collins said Scott was standing in a driveway at 417 S. Diamond St. when a man walked up and fired a single shot at him. The assailant then ran away.
