Top-seeded Amanda Basica of Rolling Hills Estates rallied to defeat Christina Moros of Sarasota, Fla., 5-7, 6-1, 7-5, and win the USTA Girls’ 16 National Championships in San Diego.
“I’m just glad it’s over,” Basica said. “I don’t like being seeded No. 1. It’s like you’re supposed to win.”
In the third-place match, No. 3 Vanessa Rooks of Spring Valley, Calif., defeated Corina Morariu of Boca Raton, Fla., 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.
