Smaller Trade Deficit Forecast: The trade deficit is expected to narrow to $6.7 billion this year from $9.7 billion last year, the government said. Exports are likely to soar 9.8% to $78.9 billion in 1992 from $71.9 billion in 1991. Imports are expected to rise 5% to $85.6 billion from $81.5 billion last year.
