Former Cleveland Brown defensive end Mike Wise, 28, talked with his father about the sadness he felt at being cut from the team hours before he shot and killed himself, the Morning Journal in Lorain, Ohio, reported.

Wise, a former Raider, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head Friday in his home near Davis, Calif., where he attended college. His death was ruled a suicide.
