Faria Keeps Dominating Scratch Main Division

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Downey won the four-lap scratch main event Friday night, his sixth victory of the season in the division, in the weekly speedway motorcycle program at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Gary Hicks of Riverside was second, seven bike-lengths behind. Steve Lucero of Riverside was third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.
McConnell won the eight-lap handicap main event. Rob Pfetzing of Orange was second, Lucero third, Hicks fourth and Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano fifth.
