Marilyn Quayle

In her speech at the convention, Marilyn Quayle looked and sounded terrific. Her demeanor and confidence would make any hard-working, liberated, female lawyer proud. But her message, which included the statement, “ . . . most women do not wish to be liberated from their essential natures as women. Most of us love being mothers or wives,” presented a very different picture. It is difficult to believe that Marilyn, an educated, aware woman, finds complete satisfaction in her mother and wife role.
