Summit Buys Westminster Surgery Center: The Magnolia Outpatient Surgery Center has been acquired by a subsidiary of a Burbank-based medical services provider, the purchaser said Tuesday.
Summit Ambulatory Network, part of Summit Health Ltd. in Burbank, said it bought the Magnolia center in Westminster from a group of doctors. Terms were not disclosed.
The state-licensed Magnolia center is used for minimally invasive surgical procedures on an outpatient basis, saving patients the cost of an overnight hospital stay. Used by more than 80 physicians, it has two operating rooms and six recovery beds.
Summit said it plans to build a network of free-standing outpatient surgical centers.
