World IN BRIEF : POLAND : Ex-Prime Minister, Wife Found Slain

Former Communist Prime Minister Piotr Jaroszewicz was strangled and his wife was shot to death in their suburban Warsaw home, a police prosecutor reported. Jaroszewicz, 82, served as prime minister from 1970 to 1980, when he was forced to resign. His wife, Alicja Solska, was a journalist for Trybuna Ludu, the newspaper of the Communist Party.
