Barron’s first job was recruiting. “My staff and I called every boy in school to get them to come out,” he said. Barron is realistic about what his 30-player roster can accomplish. “We have to be picked last,” he said. Quarterback Trigg Garner, sidelined with a shoulder injury, will concentrate on basketball this season. Wood is his replacement. “Pat can fling it,” Barron said. “And he can scramblerooski. He might have to scramble a lot if we can’t block anybody.”
