Morris East of the Philippines won the World Boxing Assn. junior welterweight title by stopping Akinobu Hiranaka of Japan in the 11th round of a fight at Tokyo.
Referee Carlos Berrocal stepped in at 1:47 of the round after a left from East knocked Hiranaka into a sitting position.
