COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS : Campus Plans ‘Fiesta Mexicana’
- Share via
College of the Canyons will hold its first “Fiesta Mexicana” to celebrate cultural diversity and mark Mexican Independence Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19.
The free event will feature Mexican music, art, food, crafts, games and rides for children. Highlights will include a Latino comedy troupe, mariachis, two theater groups and a soccer game.
The fiesta actually is a rescheduling of the college’s Cinco de Mayo celebration, which was canceled last spring when civil unrest broke out in Los Angeles. College officials rescheduled the event near Mexican Independence Day, which is Wednesday.
