HORSE RACING ROUNDUP : Coni Bug Wins Windy City Stakes

CHICAGO — Coni Bug swept past Rabals Quad at the top of the stretch and went on to win the $37,775 Windy City Stakes by six lengths Wednesday at Arlington International racecourse.
Velvet Tulip finished second in the 6-furlong dash for Illinois-bred 2-year-old fillies. Sue Who was a distant third in the field of seven. My Sole started poorly and failed to threaten.
The winner had Mark Guidry aboard and paid $4.40, $2.60 and $2.40 after being timed in 1:10 4/5 over a slow track. A daughter of Timeless Native, Coni Bug has won two of five starts. The Windy City was her first stakes victory.
Velvet Tulipo paid $3.40 and $2.60. Sue Who paid $2.80.
Coni Bug, owned by William F. Wheeler, earned $22,665 to boost her career total to $37,641.
McKaymackenna took the lead entering the stretch on the way to a 1 3/4-length victory over Forest Key on Wednesday in Belmont Park’s $33,000 Amuse Purse for older fillies and mares in New York.
Ridden by Julio Pezua and coupled in the wagering with Phone Queen, McKaymackenna covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 on a firm Inner Turf Course to earn $19,800 for R. Kay Stable. It was her fifth win in 15 starts this year.
The winning entry returned $8.80, $4.20 and $3. Forest Key paid $3.80 and $3.20, while Super Sez, another 2 3/4 lengths back in third, was $3.40 to show.
