Unilab Chief Weighs Move to L.A.: Andrew H. Baker, 44, former president of Corning Lab Services who recently took over as chairman and chief executive of Unilab, said he hopes to move the New York company’s headquarters to Los Angeles by the end of this year. Unilab, founded four years ago, is about 50% owned by Corning. Through its MetWest subsidiary, Unilab provides clinical-laboratory testing services in Tarzana, San Jose and Sacramento, employing 2,200 people in the state.
