VISTA : Oceanside Man Arrested in Slaying

Sheriff’s investigators have arrested an Oceanside man believed to be involved in last Saturday’s shooting death of John Samuel Ochoa, 26, whose address is unknown, officials said.

Ochoa was shot about 11 a.m. in the 1500 block of Elm Drive in Vista, authorities said. Deputies arrested Jimmy Rodriguez, 33, of Oceanside, while he was working on his truck in a friend’s garage at the 200 block of Lavender Lane in Vista. Rodriguez was held on suspicion of murder and booked Friday into the County Jail in Vista, where he is being held without bail, a spokesman said.
