Class: Sophomore
The Saints’ runner finished first in a meet against St. Paul. Although her team lost the meet 23-34 (the low score wins in cross-country) Guesno kept her personal record unblemished as she moved to 4-0. “She is an amazing kid,” Coach Martin Rubio said. As a freshman, Guesno earned varsity letters in volleyball, basketball, track and softball. She is a member of the student council and has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
Other top performers:
Cindy Holwerda led Valley Christian to a 16-2 win over Mayfair in girls’ tennis. Holwerda recorded three singles victories, defeating her opponents by 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0 while helping the Crusaders to a 5-1 record.
Pua Tata, a sophomore setter, recorded 38 assists as she helped Mayfair to a tough five-game volleyball victory over Jordan. The game scores were 15-2, 15-12, 7-15, 13-15 and 15-13. The victory evened Mayfair’s record at 2-2.
