Vote on Water Unnecessary
It is unfortunate that the Ventura City Council is asking the general public to vote on whether to import water or build a desalination plant. The council is elected to make decisions on issues based on known facts, not defer to the public because it is afraid to make a decision. We now go from a decision based on facts to one based mostly on emotions and hearsay information.
Without the city of Ventura’s support for state water, the Ojai Valley and Santa Paula areas will be in deep trouble. I request that the citizens of Ventura understand that this, as a quality of life issue, is a community problem and their decision should be to support the Ventura City Council to join Casitas and United Water to import water.
