Chrysler Hikes Prices by 2.4%: Chrysler Corp. said it plans to increase prices on its U.S. cars an average 2.4% for the 1993-model year when compared to similarly equipped 1992 models. The nation’s No. 3 auto maker said July 27 that prices of its domestically made cars would increase an average 2.6% for 1993. While that figure is unchanged, the overall 2.4% increase reflects the addition of pricing for Chrysler vehicles built by Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Chrysler also plans to increase prices on its popular minivan models by an average 2.1% for 1993, a company spokesman said. The prices of the auto maker’s Jeep sport utility vehicles will be increased an average 1.2%, including a 3.8% increase in the base price of its new Grand Cherokee.
