Highland 37, Santa Paula 18--Bulldog tailback Derrick Smith rushed 20 times for 127 yards and two third-quarter touchdowns as Highland erased Santa Paula’s 12-point first-quarter lead.
Smith scored on runs of three and 18 yards, and quarterback Travis Sabadin ran for one score and passed for another. Sabadin completed seven of nine passes for 94 yards.
Santa Paula quarterback Brian Whittaker completed 13 of 26 passes for 143 yards and one score.
