Mater Dei 37, St. Francis 0--Mater Dei combined an aerial offensive attack with a dominating defense for the shutout at Santa Ana Stadium.
The Monarchs (3-0-1) limited the Knights (2-2) to 105 yards and only six first downs. On the offensive side, quarterback Derek Uhl completed 17 of 24 passes for 239 yards. Mater Dei wide receiver Robert Molina caught 11 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns.
Canyon 27, Quartz Hill 14--Junior running back Ed Williams rushed for 197 yards in 33 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the visiting Cowboys.
Canyon (3-1) jumped to a 21-0 halftime lead as its defense held the Rebels (1-3) to just six yards rushing.
