South Gate 23, Locke 14--Felipe Escartin kicked three field goals, including one for 45 yards, and recovered a fumble to lead South Gate to its third win in a Southeastern Conference game.
Freddy Guzman returned a kickoff 90 yards for South Gate’s first touchdown.
Locke quarterback Akili Roberson completed four passes for 103 yards, all to receiver Brian Clark, including a 56-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game.
The game was stopped by referees with 1:30 left after Locke received several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
Records: Locke 2-2; South Gate 3-1.
