FAIRPLEX : Pomona Derby to ‘Prospect’

Prospect For Four, a $3,200 purchase as a yearling, scored a half-length victory Saturday in the $100,000 Pomona Derby at Fairplex Park.
The victory was the fourth in a row over two seasons at Fairplex for Prospect For Four, all in stakes. The gelding increased his earnings to $248,375 with his fifth victory in 17 lifetime starts.
Prospect For Four won under a hand ride from David Flores, who won his ninth stakes of the Fairplex meet. Prospect For Four won $55,000, covering about 1 1/8 miles in 1:51 3/5.
Prospect For Four returned $3.40 to win and combined with Southern Wish for a $2 exacta payoff of $29.
Today at Fairplex Park, the $150,000 Pomona Invitational Handicap will be run at about 1 1/8 miles. First post for the 12-race card will be at 1 p.m.
