TAHOE BOUND: Vacationers headed for South Lake Tahoe used to have to fly out of Los Angeles, but starting Nov. 23, Alpha Air plans to launch daily service from John Wayne Airport on the commuter airline’s Beech 1900 twin turbo-props. . . . The company hasn’t set fares yet, but a ticket costs $99 each way from LAX and will nearly double to $195 on Nov. 15 in anticipation of the ski season.
