Ethnic Ethics

I’m confused! In the Sept. 24 Calendar, the headline of one article reads, “KMPC Deejay Fired Over ‘Racist’ Skit.” Right below this article is a TV review with the headline “Ethnic Comedy at the Heart of ‘Rhythm & Blues.’ ”
In the TV show, a white deejay is hired by a minority station “where he immediately becomes the butt of ethnic jokes.”
The reason for my confusion? Why is a skit performed on radio called “racist,” while when performed on TV it’s called “ethnic comedy”? KATIE KELLY
