Phil Simms, quarterback for the New York Giants, will have arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips on his right elbow Monday and sit out at least three to four weeks.
Simms, who has not practiced this week, was injured during the Giants’ 13-10 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. Jeff Hostetler will start against Phoenix on Sunday.

Kevin Mack, the Cleveland Browns’ top rusher last season with 726 yards, and linebacker Frank Stams, sidelined because of a pulled leg muscle, were brought off injured reserve. Cleveland placed tight end Pete Holohan on injured reserve because of a sore foot, and rookie guard Tom Myslinski was cut.
