At 47, Not Yet Ready for Social Security

How old is Times staff writer George White? In the article, “Hughes to Offer 5% Discount to Senior Citizens” (Sept. 28), he states that baby boomers are “moving into middle age and beyond.”
As the oldest baby boomer by his definition (born in 1945) I have just celebrated my 47th birthday.
If I am beyond middle age, please sign me up for Social Security payments immediately, and start sending those checks!
