ANAHEIM — State College Boulevard at the Riverside Freeway was shut down in both directions for 1 1/2 hours Monday night while a hazardous materials crew cleaned up two gallons of muriatic acid that had fallen to the street from a passing truck, fire officials reported.
The westbound off-ramp from the freeway to State College also was closed after the 7:50 p.m. spill, said Anaheim Fire Department dispatcher Jonathan Wilkes.
There were no injuries. The street and freeway ramp were reopened by 9:20 p.m., he said.
Witnesses told fire officials that they saw a plastic bottle fall off a truck passing beneath the freeway overpass, Wilkes said. Authorities were unable to identify or locate the truck, he said.
