Michael Gage, chairman-elect of the Metropolitan Water District, will be appointed today as president and chief executive of Calstart, the public-private consortium attempting to develop an advanced transportation industry in California.
Gage, a former state legislator and chief aide to Mayor Tom Bradley, also serves as a board member of the L.A. Department of Water & Power Commission. Also named to a Calstart post will be Col. Glenn Perry U.S.A.F (Ret.) as chief operating officer. Perry, formerly commander of the Los Angeles Air Force Base, was professor of aerospace studies at Loyola Marymount University from 1985 to 1988.
