COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Victory Gives Fullerton Soccer a Share of First

Fullerton moved into a three-way tie for first place with 3-0 victory over Rancho Santiago in an Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer match Tuesday at Fullerton.
The victory moves Fullerton (7-3-5, 3-1-2 in conference) into a tie with Rancho Santiago (8-2-2, 3-1-2) and Irvine Valley, which had a bye Tuesday, at the halfway point in the conference race.
Each team has eight points.
Alberto Verduzco, Carlos Castello and Luis Fernandez had a goal each for Fullerton, which led, 2-0, at the break. It was Castello’s team-leading 10th goal this season. Fernando Santizo had five saves in recording his sixth shutout.
In another Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer match:
Orange Coast 3, Cypress 0--P.J. Polowski scored twice and Jon Muir added another for visiting Orange Coast (6-5-1, 3-3).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Cypress 4, Irvine Valley College 1--Krishawn Mangan scored twice for Cypress (14-1, 7-0). Goalie Amy Kicyla had seven saves for Cypress.
In Orange Empire Conference water polo:
Orange Coast 16, Saddleback 11--Rich Ruffini and Ryan Mulholland each scored five goals for visiting Orange Coast (14-6-1, 4-0). Kevin Smith had five goals for Saddleback (10-14, 1-2).
Rancho Santiago 16, Palomar 7--Jeremy Yorba and Joel Stewart each scored four goals for visiting Rancho Santiago (12-6, 2-1), which led, 9-3, at halftime.
