BURBANK : City to Maintain Glendale Signals
- Share via
The Burbank Public Works Department will maintain Glendale’s traffic signals under a new contract.
The contract, approved unanimously Tuesday by the Burbank City Council, states that Burbank will receive $37,000 a month to provide routine maintenance and repairs to traffic signals at 190 intersections in Glendale.
Burbank Public Works Director Ora Lampman told the council that Glendale decided to contract with the city instead of renewing its current agreement with a private firm. Burbank will hire five workers for its Traffic Signal Section to perform the new services, Lampman said. Burbank is trying to save money by coordinating services with Glendale and Pasadena at the request of City Manager Robert Ovrom.
