Father Nemesio T. Ngayan; Priest

Father Nemesio T. Ngayan, who worked to train men for the priesthood, died Monday after a short illness. He was 34.
Born in the Philippines in 1957, Ngayan came to Southern California with his family in 1964. He was adopted by Sister Helen Hardy in 1979.
Ngayan was an Orthodox Catholic priest for 10 years, last serving at Holy Trinity Parish in Camarillo. In the Orthodox Catholic Church, priests do not serve under the Pope.
He is survived by his brother, the Rev. Father Douglas Rees of Camarillo; and his mother, Leonida Ngayan; brothers Lenard Ngayan and Carlito Peter Hilarion Ngayan Jr., and his sister, Norma Ngayan, all of Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo.
