Police on Thursday were looking for suspects in the slaying of a 26-year-old man who died Wednesday night of stab wounds.
Jose Mario Ochoa-Alcantar was found bleeding to death in the parking lot of a Circle K store at 1913 Pomona Ave. shortly after 8 p.m.
Police said he had apparently been involved in a fight a few blocks away and left a trail of blood on the sidewalk. A clerk at the store called paramedics, Police Lt. Ron Smith said.
Ochoa-Alcantar, a resident of Costa Mesa, was rushed to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach and was pronounced dead on arrival, Smith said.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation is continuing, Smith said.
Anyone who may have seen a fight at the intersection of 19th Street and Pomona Avenue about 8 p.m. Wednesday is asked to call the Costa Mesa Police Department at (714) 754-5205.
