Motivating Inventors: Of course, there are entrepreneurial success stories out there, too.

And at the next Inventors Forum seminar at Orange Coast College, half a dozen inventors will present their products, explaining how they turned an idea into reality. Among the products to be shown are a device to clean an oil dipstick, a lock for motorcycle levers and a new system to control fluid in cars and planes.

Last but not least, Len Fish, the inventor of Silly String, the spray-can toy that is a gas at parties but a headache the next day, will be there.

Gene Scott, president of the Inventors Forum, says of the annual event, “It’s a real motivational piece. . . . It’s probably the most motivational seminar that we do. Last year, people were there until 11 at night.”

That’s a big deal, for the seminar is on a Friday night. It starts at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Orange Coast College Science Lecture Hall. The cost is $10 for non-members. For information, call the Inventors Forum at (714) 253-0952.
