Colgate-Palmolive Co. said Chief Operating Officer William Shanahan has been given the additional title of president.
Chairman and Chief Executive Reuben Mark, 53, is relinquishing the title of president to Shanahan, 52.
Shanahan will have the additional responsibility for Eastern Europe and Africa, which, when combined with his current duties, gives him full responsibility for all of Colgate’s worldwide household and personal care products operations.
Roderick Turner, who retired this summer, had previously been responsible for Eastern Europe and Africa.
Shanahan has been with Colgate since 1965.
