Cypress Wins Toss, Gets Empire’s Top Spot

The Cypress High girls’ volleyball team won a coin toss with Los Alamitos Friday and will enter the Southern Section Division II playoffs Thursday as the Empire League’s top team.
Los Alamitos (12-2) swept Cypress (13-3) Thursday night, giving both teams 9-1 league records. Cypress won the coin toss that broke the tie, and Los Alamitos will go as the league’s No. 2 team.
Pairings for all six divisions will be announced Monday.
